LPI General Manager Visit to India

ImageDue to the current petroleum industry interest to the Neoprotozoic-Cambrian Basins of the North Gondwana Margin which extends from Northern South America, across North Africa and all the way to Pakistan and India, and due to the widespread and growing scientific perception that Infra cambrian sedimintary successions which will continue to form an important exploration target for future oil and Gas exploration, and finally the emerging of Libya as a focus area for such exploration activities.

The Opening of the Tenth Mediterranean Petroleum Conference and Exhibition

ImageThe Tenth Mediterranean Petroleum Conference and Exhibition organizing is a biennial event, which sponsored by a number of well known organizations, among of them the LPI. The opening ceremony was held on Tuesday morning, 26th February 2008.
The location and events for the conference fair are as follows: Tuesday 26th - Thursday 28th of February in Dat El Imad complex, Tripoli – Libya.

Twelve Days Geological Field Trip to Jabel Nafusa
ImageAs a part of the cooperation between LPI and Exxon Mobile, a team of geoscientists from both institutions will participate today in a twelve days field excursion to Jabel Nafusa. This is their second field trip to the same area; the main focus of their task will be to study the sections of Lower Cretaceous and Jurassic Kikla and Cabow Formations.

A presentation was delivered at LPI
ImageDr Brian Dickson from UK, visited LPI today (14th February) and delivered a presentation on how to engage LPI employees to upgrade themselves and have a master degree by distance learning in various different disciplines, such as chemical engineering, processes technology & management, chemical technology & management and business studies from Strathlyde University.
