Libyan Petroleum Institute (LPI held a technical meeting on Sunday January 31st. 2009 with Harouge Oil Operations and on Tuesday January 2nd 2009 with Waha Oil Company. The LPI was represented by the Chairman and members of management committee, technical departments mangers, head of business development office and head of planning office, The two counterpart were represented by the Chairman and members of their management committee and technical departments mangers. The discussion covered the LPI new strategy of improving and upgrading the capability of their technical staff to cover most if not all the analytical and Laboratory services and studies for the oil company in the field of exploration, reservoir exploitation, production and environment. The meeting was preceded by a presentation reflecting all the service that LPI is capable of delivering to the oil company both in laboratory testing services and studies. At the end of the meeting the two parties agreed to introduce together new study proposals that will pave the road for future cooperation.
The newly established
business development office in the Libyan Petroleum Institute started to
accelerate its activates of encouraging various oil industrial corporations,
and other development bodies in Libya to set up mechanism, and invite oil
companies to benefit from the LPI Laboratories’ services of hydrocarbon and gas
exploration and production activities. The participation of Libyan Petroleum
Institute in the symposium of the Forum for specialists in services, education
and training for oil and gas companies working in Libya which was held from 8
to 9 of December 2009 and under the sponsorship of the National Corporation and
supervision of both Petroleum Institute for training & development and
Getenergy Company will be one of those activities. The business development
office in the LPI will be involved in all oil industry related events and will
continue to work and help to ensure good quality services to Local and
international oil companies in Libya.
On Thursday the 3rd of December 2009 a meeting has been held between LPI exploration manager, Head of business development and Regional study coordinator Mr. Giovanni Minneei from ENI North Africa. With reference to the meeting held on Thursday 3rd of December 2009 by and between the Libyan Petroleum Institute (LPI) and ENI North Africa. In order to establish, develop and increase business opportunities between LPI and oil companies and in the presence of Dr. Abdulbaset M. Abadi/ Regional Study Coordinator, Mr.Giovanni Minneci/ Subsurface Geology Coordinator, and Mr. Dario Avagliano/ Offshore Exploration asset Coordinator, and Libyan Petroleum Institute was presented by Dr. Abdussalam Dardour/ Head of Business Development office , Dr. Mohamed Hrouda/ Exploration manager, Mr. Ashour Abouessa/ Head of Geology Department and Dr. Amar Gammudi/ supervisor of Biostratigraphy Unit.
Dr. Abdulla Elhenshir, head of the Environmental Section Participated in Chimia 2009, Conference which took place during the period 13-19/05/09 on Constanta city - Romania, the conference organized by the University of Ovidius under the theme (New Trends in applied chemistry). The Environment Section present three papers on this conference:
1. Evaluation of bio-Surfactants Enhancement of Bioremediation Process Efficiency for Crud oil Contaminated Soil at Oilfield
2.CFD Modeling of contaminant transport in soils including the effects of chemical reactions
3. Using of produced water associated with oil and gas production as a Source of Hydrogen: Solar Electrolysis Cell Application
